Fork in the Road
At the close of 2010, I was faced with making a decision in my aesthetic nursing career. I could either join a large healthcare institution and attempt to continue providing aesthetic injectables, or take the risk of opening my own practice, where I could continue to offer patients the personalized care and treatments they were accustomed to for more than a decade. So I took a deep breath, a step of faith (along with a bit of fear), and founded ReFresh Aesthetic Center in April 2011.

That ReFresh team began with five core employees (two being myself and my husband, Jon, our CEO, CFO, and anything else non-clinical ReFresh needed from him!). Four of those five individuals remain with us today. I’m sure you can guess one of them: Tessa Bolle Muraski, our aesthetic coordinator and director of operations. She’s quiet, calm, and steady, not only with staff, but also with patients. Alongside me through this past decade has been my colleague, confidante, and ReFresh’s clinical educator and aesthetic nurse practitioner, Arleen More O’Ferrall, whose knowledge and expertise is respected by all. Most importantly has been the constant of my husband, Jon, navigating us through the past 10 years, running our small business to remain sustainable, even through a pandemic and two-month closure!
The achievements of any successful organization are the results of the combined efforts of every individual on a team.
Fast forward to 2021. Our team has grown exponentially to 19 invaluable employees. This team is led by our practice manager, Tamara Little, six aesthetic concierges (who also wear many other hats), five NP, PA, RN aesthetic providers, four licensed aestheticians, and one certified medical assistant. All of these amazing individuals view themselves as part of a team, with the goal of providing each patient with The ReFresh Difference.
Building Legacy Patients
Looking back 10 years, ReFresh would not be celebrating today without our patients’ trust and belief in us and what we do. So what are legacy patients? They’re patients who’ve not only become friends, but family. We celebrate with them when they reach important milestones, we cheer them on when they face challenges, and we grieve with them when they experience loss. Our legacy patients are the cornerstone of our practice, and we’re grateful for every one of you!
