As experts in the field of medical aesthetics, we at ReFresh Aesthetic Center know that doing a procedure right the first time around is very important. Unfortunately consumers who are ‘bargain hunting’ when it comes to aesthetic injectables such as BOTOX® Cosmetic and dermal fillers, don’t always know what they’re sacrificing to get that low price. Here’s what you should know:

1. You only get one chance

When it comes to visiting their local hair salon, most people don’t price shop. Yet, people don’t have to live with one haircut for the rest of their lives. Hair grows back. A person’s face is even more important than their hair. You only have one face; a procedure gone wrong can leave its mark for the rest of your life.

2. Licensing, Qualifications and Experience Matter

You can see someone’s license, but experience and other qualifications are a little harder to discern. Aesthetic practitioners who are educated in their field, highly skilled, and have worked hard to reach the level of a expertise will likely charge an average or higher price because patients can expect a safe medical environment and superior outcomes. As a consumer, the question you should ask yourself is: Do you trust someone who is cheaper than everyone else, or has the ‘best deal’? Would you want someone less experienced or qualified working on your face?

Product Quality Makes a Difference.

When consumers bargain shop, they might not get what they bargained for. Practitioners can’t legally import injectables such as Botox® Cosmetic or dermal fillers, however, that isn’t enough to stop people from doing it. Practices that are all about ‘the deal’ or looking to draw in business may cut corners in any way they can. They may just give a ‘standard’ dose of a neurotoxin (Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®), which can prevent people from getting the customized dose they actually need. There may even be some practitioners who ‘water down’ (or dilute) these products. They may work initially, but not last the appropriate amount of time, or not achieve the full results possible. In some cases, these neurotoxins might not work at all.

Time Matters

Expert aesthetic practitioners spend time with the patient. To make bargain prices work, practices may rush patients through. Besides making you feel overlooked, this also may increase the risks associated with a procedure. Mistakes, increased pain or prolonged bruising, poor outcomes, and complications are much more likely when practitioners rush through treatments in order to see more patients in a given day.

When consumers ‘price shop’ for their aesthetic injectables, it may be evident solely by their appearance. It is important to remember the old adage; If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is! Unfortunately, that may not be enough to stop some people from trying. Often times, our practitioners have found that when an outcome from a practice that cuts corners to cut cost is clearly not good, patients will return.

So the next time you consider bargain shopping for your aesthetic services, think again! Consider the price you may really be paying. Be assured that ReFresh Aesthetic Center will not waiver in our commitment to safe and superior patient outcomes in all we do.
